The Carli Backcountry System is engineered for Ram 2500 owners who want premium on-road comfort and confidence-inspiring off-road capability—without the price tag of high-end race systems. Built around Carli SPEC 2.0 Remote Reservoir Shocks, this kit delivers exceptional ride quality on the highway, in town, while towing/hauling, and during slow to mid-speed off-road driving. These shocks feature 6063 aluminum bodies, anodized corrosion protection, 5/8" chrome-plated shafts, billet 6061 rod ends, premium 5WT shock oil, and full serviceability, all backed by a 1-year Carli warranty.

The system lifts the truck 3"–3.5" in front, increases suspension travel by 50%, and uses taller, lighter-rate coils for improved comfort and control. Two rear coil options tailor the truck’s stance and load capability:

  • R1 Coils: 0.5"–1" lift, soft-ride, reduced capacity (max 1,500 lb bed load).

  • R2 Coils: 2"–3" lift, maintains factory payload, supports up to ~800 lb constant load.

To maintain correct geometry and maximize performance, the kit includes:

  • Adjustable Track Bar to recenter the front axle

  • Radius Arm Drop Brackets for restored caster & proper axle placement

  • Bump stop drops for correct shock cycling

  • Rear Track Bar Drop Bracket or optional Carli Extended Rear Track Bar for dramatically reduced rear yaw

For sway control, customers can choose Billet Sway Bar Drop Brackets or upgrade to the Carli Torsion Sway Bar, the single best ride-quality improvement Carli offers.

With improved stability, reduced body movement, and the ability to drive rough roads confidently with one hand on the wheel, the Backcountry System is the ideal choice for drivers seeking unmatched value, versatility, and ride refinement in an 8,500 lb truck.

Wheel and Tire: This system will fit up to a 37” tire when utilizing wheels that are no more than 9” wide with 5.75-6” of backspacing. A 12.5” wide should fit with no rubbing on the factory radius arm and only minor trimming required, while a 13.5” will require more trimming and slightly more offset to fit properly. 35” tires will fit with VERY minimal, if any trimming. We Recommend running an 18” diameter wheel for optimal ride quality (more rubber = better small bump compliance) on a 35”-37” E-rated tire running 45psi front, 40psi rear when unloaded.
