- Description
Designed for Super Duty owners who want exceptional on-road comfort and off-road capability without breaking the bank, the Backcountry 2.0 Suspension System is the perfect choice for those looking to enjoy both daily driving and dirt-road adventures.
Key Features:
-
Carli SPEC 2.0" Diameter Remote Reservoir Shocks:
- Construction: Made from 6063 Aluminum with an anodized body for corrosion resistance.
- Durability: Features a 5/8" hardened steel chrome-plated shaft and 1-piece bushings in 6061 billet rod ends.
- Serviceability: Fully serviceable and rebuildable to ensure long-lasting performance.
- Premium Oil: Spec'd with 5WT oil for optimal lubricity, consistent damping, and a wide temperature range.
- Warranty: Backed by a 1-year warranty serviced by Carli.
-
Ride Height and Travel:
- The system raises the front of your truck by 3.0”, enhancing wheel travel thanks to lighter rate Carli Coil Springs.
-
Enhanced Front Geometry:
- The Adjustable Track Bar centers the front axle, and Stainless Brake Lines ensure proper braking performance with increased travel.
- Includes Radius Arm Drop Brackets and 1° Caster Shims to correct caster and improve tracking.
- High-Clearance Bump Stop Drop keeps springs from contacting factory bump stops.
-
Sway Bar Options:
- Address front sway bar geometry with your choice of:
- Sway Bar Drop Bracket (economical, maintains factory end links).
- Extended Sway Bar Links with relocation brackets for a more robust solution.
- Upgrade to the Torsion Sway Bar for improved ride quality and articulation with minimal body roll.
- Address front sway bar geometry with your choice of:
Rear Suspension Options:
-
Leaf Spring Configurations:
- Choose between a Full Progressive Spring Pack (reduces capacity to a “light” ¾-ton) or a Progressive Add-a-Pack that eliminates the factory block while maintaining payload capacity.
-
F250 vs. F350 Considerations:
- The F250 features a lighter rate spring pack (2 main leaves) compared to the F350 (3 main leaves).
- The F250 Add-a-Pack provides significant improvement, while the F350 remains stiff unless loaded.
-
Capacity Solutions:
- For optimal performance, especially on the F350, we recommend the Full Replacement Leaf Spring Packs.
- If capacity is a concern, consider an aftermarket airbag system to complement the Full Progressive Leaf Springs, allowing for disconnection during suspension cycling for maximum rear travel.
- The Full Progressive Leaf Spring Pack slightly shifts the axle forward for maximum tire clearance with 37” M/T tires.
Installation Notes:
- To achieve a proper rear height stance, install either the Add-a-Pack or Full Progressive Leaf Spring Pack. Without these, an F250 may sit rear-low.
- If a Carli rear spring option is not purchased, you can use the taller 2017-19 Ford 3″ rear block for a leveled stance, although ride quality may not be optimized (Factory Block PN: HC3Z-5598-A and HC3Z-5598-B). Which you can find HERE
Wheel and Tire: Factory Wheels SHOULD NOT be run with oversized tires. They’re known to rub the radius arm, sway bar and most concerning – Brake Lines. Factory tires and factory wheels will work without issue but we DO NOT recommend running oversized tires on factory wheels. On our Ford Leveling Systems, we recommend 17”-18” wheels, no more than 9” wide with 5.5” of backspacing with Carli Fabricated Radius Arms or 5” Backspace with factory arms; 5” will require a bit more trimming. Tires, 37×12.5” will fit with some trimming; 35” will likely fit without trimming. The more rubber, the better the small bump compliance will be at proper inflation pressures. The ride will firm up as you go larger in wheel diameter. For more details, see our article on wheel and tire selection and tire pressures:
